Jameel Muzaffar is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. He trained in Yorkshire, Birmingham and Cambridge, and his clinical practice is focussed on disorders of hearing and balance, including hearing implantation and hearing genetics.

His research focuses on improving access to hearing healthcare, implantable hearing devices, tinnitus and understanding the effects of noise exposure on hearing. He has led and collaborated on multiple national and international studies in hearing health.

Jameel is the National Specialty Lead for ENT and Audiology for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network, supporting the delivery of ENT and hearing research across the NHS. He is also Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Oto Health, a digital health company developing digital therapeutics for tinnitus. Jameel is Co-Chair of the Project Management Group (Hearing) for the UK National Eye and Hearing Study.
